PLANS
Mostly building a CR base. Reuniting with Billy Kaplan, possible adventures with Magneto, and building both of those relationships. He'll be possibly teaching some low-level sorcery to a few select students, depending on how the idea itself is received. Otherwise, he plans on traveling around to see some of the sights along Dorchadas (and further, depending). He'll be looking into the sorcery within the world, as well as various kinds of sorcerous explosives, and different kinds of poisons. He'll want to examine the political structure, myths and find out more of the details about the war itself. There may be some rebellions and messing-up-of-things included in this, possibly with anti-shardbearer sentiments.
SUMMARY OF KNOWN DETAILS
✖ Part-time adjunct professor of illusion at a mage uni. Spreading the general illusion bits around town. Gaining some very interesting information from said exploits.
✖ Saber's super super super secret R&D project. There will be trials and errors.
✖ Possible dabblings with the Midnight Court.
✖ Rin, Johnny, Magneto, Zuko, Sansa, Sam, Maleficent
QUESTS
✖ REDGATE | The Walking Dead
TIMELINE OF EVENTS
SPRING IN 2,701 (Mar, Apr, May) |
- MARCH—Roc, the king of the birds, throws some awful snowstorms across drabwuld. Since Loki's a frost giant, he likely won't become a Lokisicle, but he'll try to find some creative ways to get people un-frozen.
- MARCH—Boons boons boons boons boons boons boons boons boons boons boons.
- APRIL—Histrionic Loki with a crazy emotionally-driving harp in his dreams. He'll find it and destroy it. This also might be an interesting time for his CR, since he'll be a little more sensitive and vulnerable.
- APRIL—Boons boons boons boons boons boons boons boons boons boons boons.
- MAY—Golden swans migrate, devouring and destroying. Loki will be capturing and collecting them to gain some wealth.
- MAY—Possibly beginning to find a place to settle after the monarchs leave. Teaching some low-level chaos magic to a few new faces that he's possibly bunking with.
|
SUMMER IN 2,701 (Jun, Jul, Aug) |
- OVERVIEW—Refining his own abilities (depending on his boons) and continuing to foster the chaos magic abilities of those who may be around him during that time. Also helping Billy Kaplan with his finesse.
- JUNE—Checking on some of the Jabberwock sites that are affected with the rot. He can't do much in regards to healing, but it'll be a good opportunity to meet CR with the people who may have a better those abilities.
- JUNE—pOSSIBLE MAGICAL TOURNEY?? Using magic? Probably not, but he's very curious to see what other people in the world can do, so he may check it out for observational purposes, and to see if he can learn any new tricks.
- JULY—The sudden violence wrought by the anti-shardbearer demonstration hits a head, and Loki heads to investigate. Possible meetings with Magneto about this, as well as Acts of Vengeance 2: Electric Bugaloo, but with more good intentions.
- AUGUST—That sure is a bazaar, Sansa. Insert domestic bazaar stuff here.
- AUGUST—Leathann's Festival of Lights. SCREW THAT, WE'RE GOING TO THE FESTIVAL OF SHADOWS. Domestic festival stuff here.
|
FALL IN 2,701 (Sept, Oct, Nov) |
- SEPTEMBER—The magic that allows everyone to understand Drabbish goes nuts. Loki has the All-Tongue and can translate. Who am I kidding? He's going to mistranslate everything for everyone. Enjoy your miscommunications.
- SEPTEMBER—Drunk.
- OCTOBER—Drunk.
- OCTOBER—Oh Black Shuck too.
- NOVEMBER—Rounding up some of the mages/sorcerers from the Leathann prison break—but he's more willing to make deals than he is to turn them in. He'll be looking to gain whatever he can experience-wise/magic-wise/knowledge-wise from the escaped criminals. He also isn't against rounding them up, depending.
|
WINTER IN 2,701/2,702 (Dec, Jan, Feb) |
- DECEMBER—Drunk hunt.
- JANUARY—Heading back to Caer Scima to blow raspberries at the Seelie from a long ways away. IT'S REBUILT, TAKE THAT, SEELIE.
- FEBRUARY—Murder mystery at the children's festival.

He knows how sound works in the most theoretical sense and the analogy sticks even if he's not sure how a person goes about doing something like that.
But Loki says one key word he doesn't like: "stop" and his eyes widen.]
No! No, no way. [He looks at the spire and his construction crew before motioning toward the interior of the tower.] Come on. I wanna take notes.
no subject
As long as you have no qualms.
Coming, coming.
[ he follows along, putting his hands behind his head and humming to himself.
internally, he's pretty satisfied. Hiro agreeing was good. it meant that he could foster some of those abilities inside him, give him a little more of an advantage. Loki wasn't used to having attachments, but he felt that he could do something for the handful that he's made these last few weeks. ]
no subject
So what's the first thing I should know about this?
no subject
but Loki doesn't voice it.
instead he heads in after Hiro, strolling a tad behind him at a leisurely pace that Hiro must find frustrating by now. he takes a look around, observant to his surroundings from the backpack, to the hat, and then to the supplies that he's collected. he keeps himself aware without looking more than mildly interested.
Hiro's already settling down with a paper and pen when Loki glances back at him. ]
All magic is based on how well woven of a lie you create. It's the manifestation of thought—and there are many ways to tell that lie. There are books on the subject, all kinds of teachers and professors who'll teach you the nuances and the abracadabras.
But once you realize it for what it is, the rest comes easily.
no subject
Much.]
They really teach classes in the art of lying? [A raised eyebrow.] Sounds pretty sketchy to me, dude. Aren't people naturally able to lie if they choose to?
no subject
[ like him. but Loki came in a bit of a unique package. he was honed into everything a little more tightly than the next. being a creature of prose made the strings a little easier to pull. ]
The more you learn, the more blatantly obvious it becomes, no matter who the teacher is. [ he holds up an open hand. ] What do you think "magic words" are?
no subject
I mean I can kinda lie well enough. [He lied about where he was going all the time, but sometimes he fumbled especially when confronted by Aunt Cass.] Magic words are basically like "alakazam" or whatever, but I don't think that's what you mean. [Explain please.]
no subject
[ he waves his fingers in the air, and green tendrils begin to flicker around them. the reality bends, like ripples outward in a pond. he lingers enough so Hiro can feel the weight. the next time he blinks, they're both outside, snow lingering in the air and falling in white puffs around them. the air itself might be chilly, but by the nature of the illusion, it might be difficult to tell.
Loki tucks his hands in his pockets. ]
no subject
What did you just do? How...?
no subject
[ there's a certain amount of smug amusement in Loki's voice. the snow continues to fall serenely. is it beginning to get chilly? it feels real in his hand, but it could also be because he expects it to feel real. Loki crouches down to make a snowball. he weighs it in his hand and lifts his brow at Hiro. ]
Prepare yourself.
no subject
…what are you doing? Prepare for what?
no subject
luckily for him the illusion stops short, and a few fractions of a second before it hits, the illusion drops and they're back in Hiro's room. well, they were never really gone. it feels surreal, like Hiro's room might have been the illusion, and the snowfall might have been the real thing.
Loki's looking at his nails. ]
no subject
Loki's way too calm about this and Hiro? Hiro's currently losing his mind a little.]
Dude. […annnnd that hand lowers.] That's what you're going to teach me?
no subject
Clever placement is almost as important as skill.
[ he knew that Hiro would have a knack for it, just like he knew Jason would, too. both of them, while occasionally stumbling to find their footing, were chaotic. there were wants and needs and lies already there. illusion, in what used to be Loki's art, could be fostered in others. while he had thoughts of keeping it to himself, he knew that with both Hiro and Jason's reputations, that there would be trouble coming. there was a part of him that didn't want to see them without a way of defending themselves.
maybe it was easier because he found people like him, or possibly because he wasn't used to the prospect of having possible friends. ]
no subject
Look at the chaos child you've started to create, Loki.]
I don't care, I'll work on it. I'll get better. [He's already thinking of how to use illusions next time in battle, thinking of ways to outsmart anyone who got in his way.] Just teach me...please? [And he rarely actually says please, on that note. But there's a small amount of respect still in place for the god and it's clear that they have similar mindsets. It was easier to associate with people like him, especially when you weren't used to the prospect of friends.]
no subject
You're going to need more paper.
[ he says cooly.
there would be translation between the way that morals experience reality and the way that gods do. it would take more practice in finding the correct strings to pull and lies to weave. it wasn't like elementals or dark magic or light magic or anything of tangibility. illusions were lies built on perception, and occasionally those lies became truths, and they could become truths and trick the ones that wielded them. ]
First, you have to get better at lying. Remember that lie about the spire that you told me? I want you to make it better. Magic is only as clever as the bearer, and you can snap your fingers and create something unbelievable without setting the tone and poof! Someone sees right through it, and you're on the other end of a sword.
[ he sits next to him, leaning his palm on his cheek and his elbow on his leg. ]
Lie to me.
no subject
Once Loki settles next to him though he shifts to see him better, raising an eyebrow in question.]
Lie to you about the spire, or lie to you in general? Those are two totally different things. I could tell you all kinds of stuff and you might never know if it's true or not.
no subject
[ Loki explains, holding his hands out as if they're weighing lies.
he worked in lies. all kinds of lies. stories, exaggerations, rhetoric, and omission. it was just skimming the surface of what he could do. there were lies of comfort and lies of malice, there were omissions (Hiro's favorite, he found) and there were always ways to make the good sound bad and the bad sound seductive. he didn't discount their use. ]
So, the spire. Come up with something better. I'm in a mood to be convinced.
no subject
[That's the part where it gets dangerous when you take into account the little brushes and telling signs. Everything and everyone started with white lies. People fooled themselves enough to thinking they weren't really lying if it wasn't hurting anybody. Did those count as lies?
He almost pouts at the remark, leaning back on his hands and staring at Loki for a moment while thinking of something clever to say about the spire. Something to convince him...]
This spire's better than the other nine spires, but there's no real reason for its haphazard interior design. [Half a truth and half a lie sounded convincing enough.]
no subject
it was never a slippery slope with Loki—and if asked, he'd say that there was nothing slippery about it. lies were lies, it was just the awareness of what was a lie and what wasn't that was the point. people would lie to themselves about lying, try to make themselves sound justified. most of the time, Loki was with enough awareness that he knew what he was doing when it came to falsehoods. it's what made him good at them, and it's what made him good at illusion. ]
That's telling. Completely non-sequitur, Hiro. It would be a haphazard illusion. Keep your thoughts together.
no subject
...can't I just lie about something else? It's a spire. There's not much to lie about a spire. [Looking for another way out? Hiro? Surely you jest.]
no subject
There's enough to say about the spire that you refuse to say much about the spire. That leads me to believe that it's the perfect realm of our current study.
[ he says hotly. ]
I'm starting to get suspicious ...
[ the words are accompanied by the hum of the Jeopardy theme. ]
no subject
Or he did before Loki proved him wrong.
The humming's obnoxious and he clenches his jaw a little as he forces himself to concentrate, thinking of what else he's supposed to say about this stupid spire that can account as a lie.]
You're actually in the common room instead of my bedroom.
[Still telling, not lying. A frustrated noise follows.] What's the difference? We're in a spire and it's a useless spire because I didn't design the whole thing myself and it can easily be split into two. You can't lie about a spire.
no subject
If you can't come up with a lie for the spire, how do you think you'll be able to weave an illusion when you're forced to think on your feet?
[ Loki's watching him again, letting the hand he had to his chin fall just over his knee. ]
Pressure would be putting it lightly.
no subject
I--[He pauses. He thinks of how Loki possibly tricked him the way that he did and he settles back to really focus. He has a thought. It's not a very good thought, but it's a thought that's strong enough that he thinks perhaps he can sell it. There's still one thing that bothers him though.]
You said to lie to you but all I'm doing is telling you. What would be the difference? How can a person lie without telling?
[He knows how he'd do it. Casual little subtleties and quick little words fired off without regard. That doesn't seem to be enough though.] But hey, if you don't think I can do this the door's right there.
[Or is it? He's focusing as hard as he can, trying to will the door away. It...probably doesn't help that he has zero idea what he's really doing. Think hard enough and you can make things happen. Isn't that how it works? He used to believe he was a decent liar but this is definitely taking longer than he thought.]
