You told me once that you "always find a way if you want to be somewhere". [ Yes, she's actually quoting you, did you think she'd have forgotten? ] I may need to put that to the test.
[Though not her first choice, he's the only one she knows of that might be able to learn more about the barrier inside the jail that Kida had spoken about.]
[ it's not like Loki isn't now a fugitive. she's done her best to keep herself low after the whole ... arrested development. the voice that greets Riza is a bit higher, lighter, more feminine. ]
This has turned into quite the thing, hasn't it? So—a moment. Ah, yes, I'm sure I could find a way to spare one of those.
[The Green Witch who has still not mastered the art of casual video calls.]
I would have it known that I am now twelve, and only a fiery storm prevented me from notifying you sooner. I judged it most impolite to make note of it during such a troubling time, that is all!
[But it was definitely before those twins on the network got it???]
Now that I am nearly of age, I have a boon to ask of you.
[ as if it were only the fiery storm that mattered in terms of announcement. ]
A boon, you say.
[ it strikes him that she's as old as a child self was when he started his campaign across the (then) Nine Realms. despite the sudden rush of unwanted emotions, and the tightness in his belly, he regards her with a casual cant of his head. ]
As you say, Miss twelve-year-old Sieglinde—[ somehow, that doesn't come out patronizing. ]—ask and you shall receive. Well, perhaps, not many would ask a boon from me.
I'm generally a no-good down-right dirty scoundrel.
[ It's her first time broadcasting her thoughts in text, and so she wastes it on Loki, who seemed to have answers (albeit of varying satisfaction) for all her questions. Khaleesi does voice-to-text technology, Take #1. ]
Were there many dragons in Chantes?
[ And then, so he knows who this is: ]
Someone has mistaken Drogon for one of them.

[ ah ... it's a little odd to be confronted by concern, and she takes him so off-guard that she gets a moment of squint, as if he's trying to parse out just what she's trying to get to. ]
... Not well. [ Ahad had begun to fade, and Loki's abilities were beginning to dull to the point of outward frustration. may as well say it like it is. ] Whatever's afflicting this world is also beginning to afflict us.
It's about more than that. Something's zapping everything.
[ Loki likely knows that Ahad could easily find out for himself, especially in a small space like Oska. However, he doesn't seem to be making the effort, when a text can do. ]
[ he's being lazy when he gets it, letting four, five, six minutes pass before he checks.
then he sits up against the cave wall. luckily it's easier to keep his composure when there's text. the surprise disperse as he listens to the winds shudder against their hiding spot. ]
Not so drab, usually. There can be more poetry to it. But if you want to get technical.......
this isn't something he entirely expected. there's a book in his lap, and a dubious look on his face. one brow goes up, the other down, and then they switch. ]
[ the video that pops up is of his older-yet-more-recent protege shows him... sitting on the floor of his room, apparently, looking somewhere between having been hit by a bat (metaphorically) and terrified out of his mind (literally). ]
Uh... so, magical 911, right?
[ deep breaths, Stiles. deep breaths. ]
I woke up, and there was this. [ he holds up a scroll with the ALASTAIR seal on it — broken, so he's clearly read the contents. ]
And I don't know if I'm reading this right, because there's a lot of words about psychic interference and stuff, but- uh, it says they definitely gave me something, but Peter and Gwen are out and I can't work this out and did they seriously just slam-dunk some weird magic mojo into my head, how does that even work, shouldn't there be like, a written form of consent —
[ luckily for Stiles, Loki seems to take everything he says in stride. there's no doubt or hesitation, and absolutely no surprise. Stiles babbles, and Loki picks out key phrases to clarify: psychic interference and weird magic mojo.
so, he tilts his head and considers him, letting him take those deep breath. ]
Well, this will make things easier. Would you mind, erm ... [ there's a gesture with his black nails. go on, show him. ]
[ There are no Jorahs in this world, none who doubly sense her moods and know how to temper them quite as deftly as he had. But at least two here whom she cherishes are learning, and that must be enough.
Her tone is distant, but that is only because her thoughts are incomplete. ]
[ Dany has her little spontaneities, and occasionally they're refreshing, but she sounds despondent enough that it causes Loki a little bit of surprise. ]
[First thing in the morning, Loki may hear a soft knock on his door. Whenever he opens it, he'll find one knitted pouch waiting for him. It's clearly handmade, with the ALASTAIR emblem patterned on the bottom of it, and comes with a tag which reads:
To: Our Local Loki From: Olivia and Haise
Happy Holidays!
The pouch is stuffed with individually wrapped cookies of assorted varieties. It's obvious that effort and care went into each recipe, and the cookies are flavorful regardless of which type he may sample]
It's a risky lie, perhaps not the whole of it. [ then, a little more to himself. ] Very likely not the whole of it.
Why not allow senior ALASTAIR members within it? Compelling.
[ there is part of him that's disappointed: it's not the answer to destroying King Loki, and not a sure way of making sure he doesn't become him. despite that, he's already partially made sure of that. ]
[Around when the team is readying to go after Dr. Percy while the rest administer cures and vaccines, a message comes in:]
I know the plan was for me to use your sword, but I'm sitting this one out. It's not that I don't care about what he has to say. But we're here for a reason. That's all I wanted to talk to him about anyway.
[ there was a sprint of time when he might've found a slight in this, but he doesn't. his mind is moving on something other than himself, and it settles with a whisper to himself of good. ]
As you will. Making sure everyone gets out without contraction and spread of an alien illness is worthwhile.
[ he doesn't care about the mission, but he does care about the cure. ]
[A very exhausted but finally resting Green Witch. Though this mission, she feels more like the Green Scientist. Once she had seen to the worst cases, (Sonia, Peter, Daenerys, Urahara, so many more-) and distributed more of the medicines, the desperation that had kept her awake and working had finally faded, and she'd crashed, exhausted.
It has been two days since she's been able to look at her magitech, but she can't rest forever. There are still things to attend to.]
I wonder if I might speak with you regarding a serious matter.
[ Woodhurst has certainly taken its toll on all of them. perhaps he should intervene at some point, tell her that she needs to sleep, but she's the head of her own boat, and she'll steer it where she wants to go. there are other people to account for, and messes that need cleaning up. ]
[When Asher touches down on Terra Felis, he looks sharper than ever.
Clad in a white suit and golden tie, not a gelled hair on his head looks to be out of place. Such is the appearance one must keep up in a courtroom, as little things like manner and posture and pizazz are all a part of playing the game. He hasn't played to win like that in a long time, and while he can't say it was the easiest thing to do, it felt natural, normal even...
That is, until the end.]
God-
[Asher sniffles, rubbing a reddened nose petulantly with two fingers. A dog-lover at heart, it turns out that he's terribly allergic to felines.]
What's a guy gotta do to get some air around here, aah? Jesus. It feels like somebody just stuck a jalapeño up my schnoz.
[Across the way, he spots a the familiar face of a trickster who always seems to be wearing green.
Oh boy, there's a lot to be said here, isn't it? Play it cool, do this naturally, thank him for the truth sword BS first-]
there's the suit that makes him look like he walked out a hip-hop music video, and the gelled hair that makes him look like a frat boy—Loki's not sure where the two meet, but here they are. in contrast to Asher, Loki's in a green hoodie and a pair of black pants, mingling in with the crowd that's not cats. he's easier to spot with all the knee-high citizens milling around him. ]
It's hanging as well as it can. [ between the arrival of his brother and no news of Oska. there are free baths and manicures, and it's enough to decompress just a bit. ] You seem ... [ he points a finger up and down. ] like you're about to go out on the town.
